Traction Control / Stability Control (TCS/ESC)
Caution — Service soon
What It Means
The traction control or electronic stability control system has been disabled, either by a switch or due to a fault. These systems help prevent wheel spin and loss of control. The light may flash during active intervention (normal) or stay solid (fault).
Common Causes
- System manually turned off (check TC/ESC button)
- Faulty wheel speed sensor (shared with ABS system)
- Steering angle sensor needs recalibration
- ABS module fault (TCS/ESC depends on ABS sensors)
- Low battery voltage causing module error
- Yaw rate sensor fault
Can I Still Drive?
Yes — but be more cautious on wet, icy, or loose surfaces. The vehicle will not prevent wheel spin or skidding. If the light stays on after restarting the vehicle, have it scanned.
Estimated Repair Cost
