I have a crack in my windshield that's about a foot an a half long. Right now it's on the passenger side, but it's been expanding over the last few days. I didn't catch it until it was around six inches and before I could get back home, it expanded to around where it's at now.
I've seen other people post similar stories and the consensus seems to be that once it goes from a rock chip to a crack, the windshield needs to be replaced. See:

In my search, I stumbled upon videos like this "Windshield repair long crack" that seem to use products like this for repair. Do these products not work? Would it pose additional safety risk? Is repair on these types of cracks new? Why doesn't anyone else on this sub recommend stuff like this?
Is there anything I can do to stop the crack from spreading?
